Volunteering for Spoons

We are very lucky to have a team of fantastic volunteers and trustees at Spoons. Their commitment, kindness and passion to the charity amazes us. They volunteer their time and apply their skills to help our families and keep the charity running. We couldn’t manage without them. If you would like to volunteer for Spoons we would love to hear from you.

There are a range of volunteer and trustee opportunities available within Spoons. Perhaps you have been a parent in neonatal care and you would like to provide peer support to other parents? Maybe you have marketing skills and feel you could help us in that field? Or perhaps baking is your forte and you could run a cake sale to raise money? Whatever your skills or time commitment, we would love you to get involved.

Get in touch.

Peer Support Volunteers

If you have had a baby in neonatal care and are interested in joining our peer support volunteer team in Manchester we would love to hear from you.

We do ask that your baby has been discharged from neonatal care for at least one year on application. This gives you time to enjoy your baby and allows you space to reflect on your own journey. We ask you to commit to two hours a week on the neonatal unit. In return we will provide you with full training. You will have regular supervisions with our volunteer coordinator and supervision with a trauma therapist. There are plenty opportunities to get involved in improving neonatal care and family engagement through your role.

Please see links below for more information on the role and an application form.

Becoming a trustee is not only good for your CV but it also one of the most rewarding things you can do. It means you can do something worthwhile without having to commit lots of your time.
